Don Heidary, Head Coach
Don returns to the MHS coaching staff for his 22nd year. He was the Head Coach/Swim Team Director at Meadow Swim & Tennis Club from 1984 to 1999 and is co-Founder and Head Coach of Orinda Aquatics, Orinda Aquatics Masters and Polar Bear Fall Swimming Program. The youth programs currently serve over 800 local swimmers from novice to Olympic levels. He has coached over 150 All-American and National level swimmers. Don was the 2004 North Coast Honor Coach and is an ASCA (American Swim Coaches Association) Level 5 coach for USS and High School Swimming. Don recently spoke at the ASCA World Clinic on Vision and Team Building. Since 1990 Miramonte has won five NCS Championships and placed in the top three nearly every year. Don is a former high school All-American swimmer, a 1984 graduate of UC Berkeley and a member of their 1984 National Championship Water Polo Team.
Brad Allen, Junior Varsity Head Coach
Brad returns to Miramonte for his fifth year and will be coaching the Junior Varsity group with Trevor. Brad comes from a great swimming family and was an OMPA standout at Orinda Park Pool for many years where he is in his sixth year as the Head Coach. Brad is an ASCA Level 1 coach, a 2004 graduate of UCLA with a degree in Economics, and is currently substitute teaching.
Trevor Rose, Junior Varsity Coach
Trevor Rose returns as the Junior Varsity Coach. Trevor had an extraordinary career in the OMPA as a swimmer at Orinda Park Pool and was a four-year varsity swimmer for Miramonte and a Team Captain. Trevor is a graduate of UC Davis where he played water polo. Trevor is a former Head Coach of Orinda Park Pool, Campolindo Cabana Club, Miramonte rec, and current Head Coach of Moraga Valley Pool. Trevor has recently become the Head Coach of the Miramonte High School Women’s Water Polo Team and also works the Lamorinda Water Polo.
Jon Behnke, Assistant Coach
Jon has a strong history of swimming in the community beginning his career at Sleepy Hollow Swim & Tennis Club and then moving on to year-round swimming with Orinda Aquatics. Jon was a four year Varsity letterman at Miramonte, as well as an All-American. He went on to swim four years at Denison University, finishing his career with a 20.9 50 Free (20.2 split), and a 50.7 100 Back. Jon has been a senior Assistant at Meadow, Orinda Aquatics Fall Swimming, and currently runs dry land for OA’s Senior Group. Jon is employed full-time by Janney Montgomery Scott in San Francisco.
